So, when I'm at my house, my coffee maker makes the nastiest coffee I've ever had. I don't have this problem when I'm at my apartment or work, it's just my house.

My dad swears up and down there's nothing wrong, but it's obvious...

Does anyone deal with nasty coffee on a regular basis, and do you have any tricks to make it not nasty? Like some kind of liquid or what not? I'm just desperate here.

What do you put in your coffee?

I love french vanilla coffee. If you like any flavored coffees Coffee Mate has some really nice creamers you can put inside your coffee and It makes mine taste delicious.

When I saw this thread title I was prepared to defend coffee. *puts samurai sword down* lol

OK first things first, we need a good description of what do you mean by "nasty"? Is it too bitter? Does it have a bad after taste? What kind of coffee maker is it? What kind of coffee is it/is it the same brand that you use at work and apartment?

Maybe you are putting too much coffee grains into it? The grossest coffees I have had are the ones with way too much coffee in it because it gets way too strong and hard to sip.

I think the problem with the coffee at my house is that it's not strong enough! The coffee maker actually waters the coffee down dramatically when it's made. I end up having to put lots of creamer in the coffee to make it drinkable and not just hot water.

I love using CoffeeMate's French Vanilla creamer, but I don't have that luxury at the house.

I dislike stuff that has been watered down, due to it tasting more like water, than anything else. I like my drinks with a strong taste!

Get some distilled vinegar and run it through your machine a few times. Got rid of the bad coffee in our machine. 😛

You'd be shocked at the gunk that comes out.

After running vinegar out, run water through it twice or..."the nasty coffee" will escalate. 😛

Actually this is really great advice. If the coffee maker has a separate water filter that needs to be replaced once and a while as well. I personally use a Frenchpress. Perfect coffee every time. (Except when I grind too much coffee or if I grind the beans too finely.) Then I pretend it's an espresso. 😉

I know the coffee at work tastes horrible. I have to weigh it in sugar just to numb the taste. I quit drinking it a long long time ago, loool. XD
