So, i'm on the same hosting as ForumPromotion, HawkHost and it's been making me consider using someone else. I've been with them for 3 years with great speeds but starting this year it has slowed down a TON and after their servers were COMPROMISED and basically told me it was MY fault my site was hacked (I'm very strict with my security) I'm really looking into a different host. So that being said, does anyone know of any good reliable hosting that can support 2 sites?

Looking for more reputable hosting providers. I'm not saying those aren't good suggestions but i'm looking for providers that have been around a little bit longer. 🙂

I still recommend both of those hosts. You will have a general better all-round experience as they are smaller and have a more time to assist customers one on one rather than having a large support team get back to you in 24 or hours or sometimes more, we at EH usually get back to you within the hour and have your problem solved no later than 12 hours after sending your ticket in. It's your call, though.

I use Empirehostings for Geeks Hut and they're great. I will be moving next month though to a new host where I will basically have my own server.

FatCow was awesome for me because I could host multiple sites without it being a problem. Czeck it out when you can.

I heard bad things about fatcow.

ZINC: Aside from having your own server is there any other major reasons why you're leaving EH?

A Small Orange is worth mentioning. They have great response time and a lot of people refers to this company has highly reputable in offering great hosting services. There are coupons available online that you could use as well.

I suggest you hit their sales chat and ask questions regarding what you need and they'll answer you honestly. If you think their service is worth trying, go ahead. You can also try asking them through Twitter.

For the record, I've been using A Small Orange and Linode for two different purposes. Not a single problem with ASO if you're keen on getting a shared host. For unmanaged VPS you might want to check out Linode.

Other hosts worth checking: Media Temple (shared), DigitalOcean (VPS)

I'd just like to mention UZR Hosting. We have been around since 2009 (under the Pluto Hosting brand), so we won't be going anywhere soon. If you have any queries please feel free to ask.

Empire Hostings have been around for a while 😉

@AndroidOS Pluto Hosting not Pluto Host 😛 If the quality at UZR Hosting is the same as Pluto Hosting I recommend them then as well.

Ooops, thanks for that it has been changed. 😉 Thanks for the recommendation, I can assure you that we provide the same quality (if not better) service as we did before.

Like others have said, I also recommend Empire Hostings. I know it isn't a big name web host like HawkHost or HostGator, but I assure you, the quality is there. I have been using Empire Hostings for about four months now, and I really love it. I'd recommend it to anyone. 🙂

I'm on ProphpBB's free plan and I just love it. No downtime at all (although I've noticed as of late that when there is downtime, it's always when I'm asleep, which is probably a good thing!) and if there is downtime it's blessedly brief, and the staff are very good at giving you the 411 of what went on. Obviously, if it's for privacy reasons, they won't give the whole story (highly understandable) but they're very good about underlining just the basics of what went wrong and they're very prompt and quick about resolving stuff like this, so nine times out of ten the downtime is practically unnoticeable (which probably explains why I haven't gotten complaints yet!) They also offer premium plans as well. I remember looking at their prices once, because when I had Chatting Time, my former tech admin reassured me that if he had to close his host (his host was what I was using at the time) he'd still be willing to provide for us financially if we were forced to move elsewhere, and I've kept ProphpBB's premium plan in the back of my head ever since. One thing I think would be kind of cool one day is if we can take up donations somehow so that we can actually upgrade to a premium plan, because I LOVE that host to bits and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Link is http://www.prophpbb.com

Simplix.net might be worth checking into. (I use them for hosting my own sites/projects. I haven't had any speed issues at all. And uptime has been really good. They've been around for well over a year now so it's not like they're brand new either.)

They have a few packages and I'd imagine if you were looking for a more tailored package Dean would help you out.

If you want a host alternative similar to HostHawk, go for HostGator. But as everyone else said, EmpireHostings is great. Additionally, help is available if you need it, as Ss is the owner. 😉

Oh, I forgot to say the host I'm with has been around for a good few years I think they came up sometime in 2008. Can't remember off the top of my head but the host is about five-ish years old so they're pretty reliable.

EH is late 2009, early 2010 just for the record. We've been around for quite awhile. Nothing makes us any less professional than anyone else.

I would recommend you do consider some of the webhosts that members of this forum have. I know Chris especially keeps clients on FP updated with what's happening. 🙂 Otherwise HostGator is your best bet.
