Need advice on forum hosting

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a forum and moved it to my hostgator shared hosting plan. I've got to be honest I don't really know that much about hosting but something is telling me that having it on my shared plan is not the best way to go.

What sort of hosting would you recommend to use for a vbulletin forum? The site only has around 80 members and 1000 posts currently but it has been groeing quickly since it opened 4 weeks ago.

Generally small forums like yours will be fine on the HostGator shared hosting plans (even on vBulletin). Wait until you grow some more first.

Shared plans are fine for small forums, Forumpromotion is still on a shared hosting package as far as I know and they are doing great 🙂 That's over 900,000 posts too.

ok great. That is good to know. I do have about 20 other sites on my shared hosting but most of these are only small sites so shouldn't affect it too much I wouldn't think
