I have a nice forum . I spend a lot of time posting it and promoting it , but no one is registering....

Do daily post exchanges with other members on ForumPromotion.net.
You're sure to get members posting daily on your forum that way.

People aren't going to join and start posting if your forum has noting interesting.
Think of a few ideas and market it.

A great way to make sure that you are getting the visitors you want is by doing on-page optimization. This means making sure that you are ranking on search engines for the keywords that you want to rank for. For instance, if I had a gaming forum, that would be the keyword that I would try and rank for, gaming forum. Then, make sure it appears on your home page 2-3 times, and in the title area of your html. You can also put it in the meta keywords as well. After that, just build backlinks that point back to your site (Example: blog comments, posting on other forums, directories, etc.). Then, over time you will start to move up in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Before you know it, your forum will get much more attention.
