Hello guys, my forum has massive problems right now and I need help. A few people dont like me and have it against my site. We have been getting bombarded with over 1500 guests online, overloading the server and causing it not to load. I need suggestions on what to do, please let me know what I should do. http://centerstagesports.com/forums/

Log at your server's logs, find the IP's that are causing the most traffic, and ban them.

That's a good thing, right?

No, don't do that. Because if they are legitamate members, then you're going to have problems

This may not be a bad thing, traffic may be good for your website. I would suggest contacting your host about the issue, maybe they can give you a fix to this problem.

That would be a very bad idea, the result stated above my post.

Ive banned over 200 IP's already, not helping really.

Its not a good thing because we keep getting errors, we rarely have over 100 guests on.

Like I said earlier, contact your webhost provide about this issue. Also, try intergrating CloudFlare to your website. It is a system that helps protect your website against malicious visitors, save bandwidth and reduce average page load times.

This is the best suggestion I can mention. CloudFlare is fantastic for this.

You'd think they would just DDoS you with a botnet, or something.
Guess they're moronic.

Anyways, integrate Cloudflare, and block actual threats.

The main solution is not getting hated by people. I've had the same thing happen to me in the past. Try to work it out with them.

But for your forum itself Cloudflare can come in handy if used well. If not it can be as pointless as a rubber duck.
