Need Help Getting Members!

Hey, nobody seems to be joining my forum over the last few days 🙁

My forum got off to flying start, getting about 5 or 6 members and over 200 posts every day, but then it has just dropped.

Can anyone give me any advice on how to make my forum more attractive and could I have some good websites where I can get members from.

Some forums don't have a lot of topics. Maybe starting a few topics in the smaller forums could help a bit...

I'm having some problems getting members too but here are some advice

Get listed on as many promotion websites as possible. Currently I'm on about 8 and it seems to be working.

Do post exchanges often. These are more effective than affiliate exchanges, but they make your forum look more active, which brings in more people.

Tell all of your friends on AIM or MSN messenger to help you out by posting a couple things.
Get a real domain. No real members will ever join a free hosted site.
Have lots of general disscussion topics....

It's stupendously hard to advertise I've found. Not one person from another site has joined mine since I started advertising.

It is hard to start of with... It is like a mountain.

It is hard work to start off with but when you reach a certain point (the top of the mountain) it is alot easier and almost promotes itself (which is like walking down the mountain as it is easier the walking up it).

Im in the same position as you, but like other people have said: Post exchanges work well and once your board looks very active people will join almost automatically. Promote your forum anywhere you can.

Yeah, that is what I have been trying to do over the last few weeks.

It is actually working. My forum has been getting more and more active as the days have gone on.
