I need some help getting active members on my promotion forum, I have been using social networking like twitter, facebook (facebook does nothing) stumble upon, reddit, and other forums. I just can't seem to get guests to register.

My site is MegaTraff

Let me just say having a .site88 domain is not a good way to start.

+1 Above comment
Plus considering its a promotion forum maybe get a better theme, maybe it unique and eye catching. Also hold maybe a free service week

I've said this before to you 😉 as mentioned above, you need to get a real domain name and preferably a .com. $12 a year isn't bad. If you don't have that, you might think twice about getting into forums.

I am getting ready to start paying $210 a month as I am upgrading my dedicated server. Forums get more expensive as they get more popular.

Yeah, you should definitely change your domain name to a Top Level Domain ( .com .net etc ). In order to build a well-organized and popular promotion forum, you need to have much time to dedicate and much experience. Try to learn some SEO basics, or hire a Marketing Director. Using social networks isn't bad, but you need to buy some followers / likes to get visited by many people.
If you make a little research, you can find many interesting articles which can help you a lot. You could also check this category.

:great:

Before you drop money into your site . . . what makes it different from all the other sites out there?

It uses a free domain... 😛

Most sites use a free domain - I am on jcink, for example, after 40 months on invisionfree. This is not the point. The point is what makes it different in the subject and approach?

Mine, for example, is a more historically accurate RPG than others, and we are writing together a coherent swashbuckling adventure story. This separates it of fantasy RPGs and of sandboxes.
