I don't see you making new topics very often over there, Zenith (apart from your constant 'we need posts' threads, which get rather annoying). You seem to be constantly replying to threads, which is good, but people like new topics as well so that they can talk about different things.
There's one thing you need to get rid of. Your negativity. Your forum isn't gonna become big overnight.
You need to keep working at it. Keep to posting maybe a topic or two a day (not too much; you don't want to overwhelm your members) and keep advertising.
Hire some staff to help moderate the board. In turn, they could post too so your activity is better.
Are you doing any post exchanges? If not, keep doin em to boost your posts and activity. If you have money, consider paid posting services.
There's a LOT that you can do and half-assing one of those things isn't gonna get you members. You need to do multiples of those repeatedly and consistently.
Let me put it in perspective. For certain keywords in banner advertising (Google ads and such), getting 2% of people to CLICK on the ads is a good number. That means out of every 100 people, 2 of them will actually click on your ad. That doesn't even mean they'll buy whatever you're advertising or register on your forum.
So if you get minimal results for now, that's fine. That happens to everyone and isn't something to get discouraged about. If you get one good member then it's worth all the advertising it took to get that member.
My site is huge now, but it's 4 years old and for the first two years it was very small, large parts of it inactive. It didn't really start picking up in a big way till 2007 and even then had starts and stops largely due to mismanagement. I actually only joined it in Feb. 2008 and was promoted to an "acting" head admin {as in I am not the actual head admin, but the head admin is AWOL due to other interests and she basically put me and the other staff in charge of running it so long as we keep to the theme she set for the board when she created it, which is warrior cats, and we all are there because it's warrior cats so obviously have no problem sticking to the theme.}
so yeah. I digress a little but I think that 4 months in and to have what you already have is pretty impressive if you ask me. Pokemon is definitely not dead, there are a lot of forums and sites for it.
