Negative Impact of Web Directories

I asked him about web directories, he said that most of the web directories dont make any difference in your website stats or traffic,

Traygon noted at least 50 or so worth submitting to, however as every other type of site, there are hundreds around. If you figure there are 1,000 total (not even close, as an example), and 50 are worth submitting to, then yes, most are pointless.

I've noticed that neither of you have actually provided a helpful list on a few that are worth submitting to. Now that would be some information i'd like to have 😉

Web directories wont make a difference to your traffic, that was never my side of the argument, making positive differences to your site? Possibly. Having a negative effect? No. So, he actually uses directories under his service if the client wishes?
