'Negro' used on US Census Forms

No, not at all. Its part of the study of demographics. For example, people would like to know where certain ethnic groups live. Why? So if that ethnic family was to move to another country, they would know where they would fit in.

Also, with demographics, its better for businesses to operate. For example, I would put more Asian restaurants where there are more Asians, whereas lesser, or in a more vaster area for Caucasian people.

... as david said, that's demography. It's important to determine which ethnicities live in countries.

I don't necessarily believe in political correctness, but I do believe in respect. I call white people white, and I call black people black. I wouldn't use the word "negro" because it seems to have a negative connotation. I'm an Atheist, and I'm not offended when someone wishes me a merry Christmas. I wouldn't be offended if someone wished me a happy Kwanzaa, Ramadan, or Hanukkah either.
