OK, he's a very self-righteous performer, no joke. However, though, even his political anthems (minus Rocking in the Free World, yuck), were some killer tunes. Songs like "Alabama (the one Lynard Skynard wrote a blunt disagreeable reply to)" and "Southern Man". Anyway, I'm surprised he lived after writing them. That's a lot of guts for someone around 1970.
 
With the mention of Neil Young, what comes to my mind is the song Heart of Gold. It was very popular when I was in high school that my brothers would be singing that tune at home during weekends while cleaning the house. And I know the group Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young where Neil Young came from. And that's all because of my brothers who were fond of his music at that time.

I think Neil Young is popular in the Phillippines as on Saipan some foreign workers were playing his stuff.
