Networking is a term often used in the working world that refers to building relationships and "knowing people" who can help you out later in life. However, don't you think that networking can also be used in the online world when you create websites?
Just a few examples of how networking could be used in a few different ways.
1) You have an established name on internet forums, or an established website with followers.
2) You've built a lot of online friendships who will tell their friends and help your website grow. They can also give you valuable feedback and resources on how to promote your site.
Think about a lot of the websites that you visit on a regular basis. At least for me, I heard about almost all of them from a friend, or just from people talking about it. I think this goes to show that getting people to talk about websites can cause a snowball effect, and networking is definitely one way to get the ball rolling.
