New Admin - Cloverfield

Cloverfield is a long term valued contributor to Forum Promotion and previously worked on the Staff team. He also has experience of working as an Admin on some extremely large and very successful forums. Hence, I'm delighted to welcome him to the Forum Promotion Admin team and I hope you join me in wishing him good luck in the role.

Thank you for the kind comments everyone. I am a huge fan of this forum and have been an avid member for almost 2 years now. I became Moderator not too long after joining and enjoyed working for FP for a year. I then had to retire due to time but lately I have been able to get back on all the forums including this one and I must say it is an honour to Admin such a fantastic forum with fantastic members. As Jaosals said, one of the advantages to me becoming Admin here is the advertising I can do for the forum. I can add banners, text links and an affiliate button to the FFF which should generate more users as well as doing what I usually do with advertising. I feel, due to CMF (500,000 posts) and the FFF (425,000 posts), I have the experience to Admin a forum of this size. This is just another truely fantastic site that I can add to my resume of being an Admin or Moderator on forums over 300,000 posts large. So, if you have any questions, you now have another person to PM if you wish and I will be online practically throughout the day, every day.

Once again, thank you to the members for the welcome but especially Fergal for giving me the oppertunity to help run the best Promotion forum on the Internet.

Saying that, Cloverfield ticks all the boxes though to be successful. Experienced and the administrator of a very successful forum.

What are you basing this opinion on? It definitely isn't down to your experience of being an admin here and the huge list of things we have to do. We have to do many things you probably don't even know about.

He will do a good job and he does have alot of experience.

There could be a lot of programming behind FP, more than we might think. Plus, Cloverfield has a huge site of his own and could potentially bring more traffic to FP. It also creates a good balance between the old and new FP adminstration.

He will do a good job and he does have alot of experience.

I bet if certain people had to do certain jobs and the workload was spread 100% evenly, three admins would be easily enough.

Different people have different specialities so it is hard to spread it evenly. Also due to the tasks involved it is hard to share things out evenly. This will allow all admins to deal more with the areas they are best at rather then doing a bit of everything including things they might not be good at. It is better to be able to cope with the workload 100% of the time with enough cover rather then 90% of the time being able to cope but if something bad happens or one of us is away and can't come on we are then a bit stuck.

I personally can't spend as much time on this site as i used to as i am running another forum aswell as helping out with the main site and providing support for that and the users there to help out the owner. As i get paid for helping there, that site will come before this one as i kind of have to work to get paid. Fergal has another site aswell, same as Cloverfield. In the past me and efc used to spend most of our online time dedicated to this site as we didn't have other things to work on other then this site. It used to be 2 dedicated admins and MhW who had other projects. Now it is one dedicated admin to this site and 3 admins with other projects and sites to deal with. It is not down to the number of admins really, it is more down to the time each can work on the forum. If me, mike and fergal didn't have other things, we could spend more time here and wouldn't need a forth.
