Since my dad blew up my old camera by plugging a DVD charger into it, I got a new camera. 🙂

aha - 500D, quite a nice medium level SLR. You'll take some good holiday snaps with that 🙂
 
I got a new camera also yesterday, well my mum did ~ they look alike only mine ain't Canon.
 
I love cameras, we've had this one for about 4 years now and it's still as good as the day we brought it

I'm no pro with cameras and camcorders, so I just go by reviews. That said, for my recent trip to L.A., I took a Canon Powershot and Flip MinoHD. For the latter, I recently watched a review saying it's the worst camcorder out there. Nonetheless, for a casual user like me, it seemed to work well.
