And a great skill to have. Gonna build a PC pretty soon and probably one for my mom too, way cheaper than buying 😛

That depends on the kind of machine you are building. It also depends on your price range.

Buying a slightly used computer which is less then 1 year old can also be cheaper then building it yourself since it is easier to negotiate a better price if you know the person, the person is desperate for cash in a short amount of time, you are good at bargaining with people, and many other reasons.

People loss their jobs, so they sometimes need to sell stuff like their car, house, computer, etc for bargain prices in order to buy food sometimes.
