New Forum for Gamers and Game Developers

I counted 7 ads on one page. Plus a GIANT header image. Annnd the horrible black background.

So you can start by removing MOST of the ads, making the header shorter, and changing the page background.

Seeing as how small your forum is, packing it full of ads will only drive users away.

Getting hit by an adf.ly ad was almost like a big "F you." phpBB's image-based layout could use a border-radius update which would solve the issues regarding the white marks on the edges.

Personally, I would recommend you get out of whatever host you use and consider using a better phpBB 3 theme.

I think the blue borders should be replaced with more of a black like the background.

The main page has a whole lot going on that is a bit overwhelming... perhaps making everything smaller or putting things on a different page.

Personally once I see those AdFly ads they are usually enough to make me leave a site. My suggestion would be to concentrate on providing something of value to your guests and members and only have a small number of nicely integrated ads on each page.

good suggestions everyone,

i will definitely get rid of the adfly and remove alot of ads

unfortunately i dont have any art skills so i have to wait for a friend to make a new header image or adjust the current one to make it smaller,

thanks

-- 25 Jul 2012, 19:02 --

I ended up making some changes that i hope make it more appealing to users.

i removed some ads, and a couple ads don't show once a user is logged in

i am considering creating a custom user group that users could pay a small fee to have no ads shown to them
