New forum software.......

If I attempted to program an open source forum software, who'd be interested in either helping or testing it out?

I'm not replying here to break you down.

I'll just mention that as people get easy offended on the net.

That'll be used in the process of writing the new software.
That actually goes months back, I've already re-written it twice since then.

But my concern is: Alot of people start a new forum software or mention it on places like FP. They get to a certain point of making it but then quit.

so never get actually far. How do you plan on making this work?

By taking my time, other than me, I've only heard of one other person attempting a software and posting it here, that being "Cosmic" with Cosmic Boards.

He actually got quite far. Further then anyone else I seen attempt or have an idea to make forum software.

And he hasn't been the only one. There have been lots.

Just saying you better of starting a general discussion forum then making a custom forum software. It is a immense task.

So, I've just read 3 topics of ideas, by 3 people which from browsing this forum I know have absolutely no PHP knowledge...

That's the difference, I can actually program, and I have actually attempted this in the past, and I have live proof of a previous attempt.

Already after 1 day, I am further than any of them got.
