It would depend on how they wanted to, they could probably complete it with high quality in a day or take their time and spread it out over 2/3 days, but i dont think its all that high myself.

You may not think it's high because you are contrasting that with one user. If 20 users see this as a great package and request one, then that's 20 packages which a team of 5 have to complete, and in time, which is quite a lot.

I've already been a package team member here and package team leader. I know how this board goes and have myself completed over 500 posting packages all of which are higher than what are in the above quote. I know how annoying it can get to get a backlog of packages that require 50/60/70 posts at boards that are dead/inactive or dieing, then having to know that 2 weeks later, they close down and you just wasted your time.

My suggestion would be to keep the rules the same for each category but change the amount you get for each price.

eg
alpha = 5 posts, 1 topic, $50FP
beta = 10 posts, 3 topics, $100FP
gamma = 15 posts, 4 topics, $150FP

I think users would be better off creating duplicate accounts and just posting on them.

If users think that they can do that but the way the package were, it was far too stressful for the package team hence why we struggled to keep a team together, they were offline for long periods due to the amount of requests. We had to raise the prices and add more requirements. What is the point of having a service if it is offline more then it is online? The price increase was needed to reduce the requests a bit and to also bring it more inline with the amount of cash around. The prices were set when they was not alot of cash around. They have been increased and if you compare the cost per post of a package and compare it to the post exchange forum, you will see that it is not much different but using the official package service will guarantee you will not worry about the other person not completing their side of the exchange like you have to in the exchange forum.

The fact of the matter is that if you want a package service then changes needed to happen otherwise we would end up with no package staff and not many people wanting to be on the package team which was getting to be the case.

I think the new post packages are quite good, the only thing I would change is the forum post requirement, I think they need to be lowered slightly. Other than that it's great, it's fair on the package team and it's fairly easy to get the certain amount of FP Cash for packages as well.

The requirements are way to high for the low amount of topics or posts we receive. Increase the amount of posts or topics we get, or decrease the requirements (REQUIREMENTS ARE WAAAAAAY TO HIGH).

I'mn sorry, I've always looked out for the package team, cause the work they do is very time consuming and the least appreciated, but these requirements are ridiculous.

If we could give all forums loads of posts we would but we can't. We have to limit them to make in manageable. If you don't think they are worthwhile then don't use the service (no one forces you to use it) and if it is not enough posts then there is a very active exchange area.

The POSTS are fine. I think the posts should be smaller, as a matter a fact. I'm talking about the requirements. Hence, I don't use packages, but maybe once every 6 months, if that. I'm just comparing the requirements to the actual posts received.

The requirements could be somewhat slimmed down. but, I'm all for the change, being on PT will be a cakewalk now compared to how we had it in the past 😛

Remember, I've always suggested to remove packages from FP, altogether, but I know it's a part of FP, and always will be.

Being the previous, PTL, I wish I would've come up with this. 😛 You all complain because you're only thinking of yourself, and your forum's needs. Think of this from the PT side. You try posting on 5+ (even more, more that matter) forums per day, and then come back a week later and see the admin abandoned that forum.

Most of you have seen how many people can request a package within an hour, and quite honestly, the majority of forums requesting a package were crappy new forums where the admin didn't care to advertise and get legit members, he/she just wanted to cheat and have us make posts for them.

The only reason I left PTL spot was because of how stressful it was, and how boring it got to post on the same new or dead forums that were just going to be forgotten about. For those that are crying about the new standards (and haven't been on the PT), I'd of loved to see you on the PT back when there were requests up the ass, and everytime you logged on there was a new request.

If all you're going to do is bitch (excuse my language here) about the changes that were made to HELP the PT, then please, don't even post at all.

Another package change....it seems like there has never really been a good system and I doubt this change will be for the better. Aren't packages supposed to boost a new forum/enhance a developed forum?

I remember a 60+ post package we used to do.
All but one of the forums I did packages on have closed down (the forum being CMF).
