New Guilded Login Requirements

Beginning July 15 2024, all Guilded accounts will require a Roblox account connection in order to maintain access to Guilded’s services. Email login will no longer be supported. Starting today, all new Guilded accounts will require a Roblox account.

Guilded’s mission is to build the best communication platform for your communities. In pursuit of this, we’re taking steps toward more deeply integrating with the Roblox platform. By connecting Guilded and Roblox accounts, we’re able to lay a foundation that will allow us to serve Guilded’s current users with more robust infrastructure and access to new capabilities – from improved spam and raid prevention, to advanced localization tools, and more – while also introducing new opportunities for Roblox communities to engage and grow on Guilded.
We’re excited about the amazing opportunities this connection will help us unlock, but we understand that this may be inconvenient for our users who have not yet connected or created a Roblox account. For this reason, we’re giving users until July 15 to claim their Guilded account with a Roblox account before this change goes into effect.

I don't believe we created a topic about this over here yet, but Guilded has made the bizarre decision in forcing all of their users to have a Roblox account. I mean, do they just want to be a social platform dedicated to Roblox?

It is a baffling decision that will make many of the community angry. Already several of the large bot devs are leaving or in the process of closing down the bot services and the servers for them. Many influential members and partners are leaving or left. Roblox is making it difficult for Roblox users to link to their Discord servers. All the signs are pointing in that Guilded will be fully assimilated into the Roblox.

This really sucks. I find Guilded to be a much better platform than Discord, they offer everything that Discord has but does it better and all free too. They had forums long before Discord did, and their forums were better designed than Discord's. I guess in their minds this will bring in Roblox players and hope they use Guilded over Discord.

What an idiotic move. If people don't already have a Roblox account then they probably don't want one. 99% sure this is an attempt to get more people on there marketing list.

As a (soon to be former) Guilded Partner, they didn't even tell us until it was announced, not even the day before the announcement.

I even wrote a blog post about it on my website. I would say at least 70% of the Partners are all planning on leaving, or already have.

That's so shady! Guilded Partners should have been informed before everyone else. I've been seeing numerous people talking in their official server as well as on Reddit that they're jumping ship to Discord and Revolt. I've mentioned on a few posts that were talking about how Guilded has better forums than Discord and other chat clientsand mentioned they're all better owning their own forums but they probably won't listen to me. :V

They wanted to prevent leaks, but they could've made us sign NDAs, though they didn't.

I do agree they offered better features than Discord, for free. It's just unfortunate they didn't get enough media attention before Roblox acquired them and then ruined it. It's 100% Roblox's fault, not Guilded. The Guilded staff aren't happy about this choice that was forced upon them.

Entire server is jumping ship. 50 adults don't want to make Roblox accounts they'll never use. This is by legal definition "Undue Burden". I wish I had any hope that backlash would serve them right but we all know devs refuse criticism these days. What a shame.

Unfortunately Roblox owns Guilded, and the owners of Roblox probably don't want their player base using Discord which was Guilded biggest competitor. (Even though Guilded wasn't as popular as Discord, it certainly was much better in terms of features and organization.)
