I find it interesting that despite the very saturated web hosting market that new companies seem to pop up regularly. Is there enough demand out there for these new companies to be successful?

As long as users who look for cheap and free hosting are there these companies will find some success. But not a huge success like the well known hosting companies

They may find some pretty good success but it'll take quite a few years to gather clients as it can be hard to get folks to jump on board a brand new hosting service.

Yes, but gradually they loose customers when a users site gets huge traffic and they move out.

Not necessarily I believe it would depend on if the new hosts are willing to grow with their customers and not just be a small shop.

GoDaddy.com is huge!

We are talking about new hosting companies primarily so I am not entirely sure of the relevance of your reply.

Smaller companies can sometimes be better than large due to the personable interaction with the higher members of the company versus always getting level 1 support on large companies. Large companies would not care to negotiate any pricing with you or help you in any way. Late on your bill? Larger companies can deny you and not care whereas smaller companies may work with you more. Also, some clients require small tweaks to the server where large companies may have policies for even the smallest tweaks.

What's great is if you can somehow grow and become larger and maintain that smaller company feel in some sense. Obviously the higher ups would not be able to be as interactive as things grow but folks really appreciate a company that doesn't treat them like a dollar sign or a number.

Saturation doesn't really exist - assuming you have advertising to rise about the crowd. So the question really is, "Can I afford that advertising?".

The best advertising would drive people to an email list and/or social media thing (group/page).

O.K., well at 0.90 a lead (average on Facebook probably) can people afford it? I mean, I made a Hosting Chatter page on Facebook - and the cost of getting people was astounding. Well, I haven't continued with that - focusing more on my drum lesson one.
