New MacPro

Hey FP,

I took a huge step lately and bought a MacPro. I have always liked Mac and wanted one of my own, so I now have one. It's a beast, that's for sure!

Here are the upgrades I am going to get for it:

- 8Gb of RAM (maybe go up to 12Gb)
- 8 Core processor
- ATI 5770 graphics card
- SSD startup drive, because HDD is just too slow.

What Lucky said, you can hardly do anything with it if you want to customise it. Better off rolling it down a hill to your local tech shop and just giving it back for something where you can upgrade the parts.

My main purpose is that my 6 year old PC was giving me issues and I didn't have the drive to fix it, so I stuck with a desktop and hence I have the MacPro. I will mainly use it for Photoshop and maybe lightroom.

No need for 12GB of ram, most likely.
I have 8GB of ram on my Macbook Air and it can handle a ton!

I'd say you should be fine.

With 8GB of ram, I can run World of Warcraft, while streaming music/YouTube. I can edit videos, pictures, and do a ton of different things at once.
