When you go car shopping, do you buy new or used? Sometimes you can get a better car with updated features if you choose one that is a year or two older and the warranties can sometimes carry over. If you buy new you don't have the worries of a used car and you get that new car smell.
Used, always. New cars are a waste of money since they lose value as soon as you drive it off the lot.
My Jeep was leased brand new to the previous owner, had 30k miles, came with all the good features, no damage, and we had them extend the dealer warranty for another two years as part of the sale. They also detailed it.
Saved about $10k. I'm sure the dealer still made plenty of profit, but not as much as a new car.
Used. I hate car payments! Used work just as well as long as you're careful and have the vehicle properly inspected before purchasing. A Carfax report is also another great option to give you a little more insight into the history of the vehicle.
I got a BMW 440i Gran Coupe since a couple of months. Was an ex-demo car from a German BMW director with very low miles, a lot of options, 4 year warranty and very interesting price. The car costed 75.000€ new and I got it for 43.000€. At the time it was 10 months old and had 18000km / 15000miles
I didn't when I bought mine. It was certified pre-owned by the dealership, so no need. I imagine having a car inspected or getting a history report would be more useful if it were a private sale.
