It isnt crap, it could be the best programming language ever made, and you dont use it because you dont like the biggest company in the world. Zak, I bet you wouldnt know squat about programming, s learn the facts before commenting.
You all come up with the most ridiculous accusations.
How do you know whether this will be a good coding language or a bad one? Also without google majority of you guys wouldn't even be here, so stop bitching and enjoy life with google.

Dude, google is good. My friends dad works there and if he hears this topic, then he would get mad. anyways, if you don't like google, don't just bash and make stupid accusations, it aint cool. Like Nathan says, if there was no google, then we would not be here
Every programming language has it's purposes and are outrun by newer, better programming languages, for example, FORTRAN is never heard before, neither is lots of languages I bet none of you ever heard that died because of the evolution of computers.
If Google didn't make this new language, someone else would, so just to bash a company that is touching and expanding it's arms to ever corner of the industry is just horrible. Also, know that Google can NEVER be a monoply, it just won't happen in the United States; just like the US stopped Microsoft from almost becoming a monopoly, so will they if Google starts to take over the Industry.
Look, the reason they expand and make new ideas, is because it's business, it makes money for them, and who doesn't like money? If you delivered the same product, for years on years, making slight improvements and nothing interesting or new, would you still be a big business? Probably not.

But, they have a point, all google is doing is expanding into too many areas, soon they may even ditch their search engine just to conentrate on their OS's or something.

Go is actually a very exciting new programming language , and it's not going to be proprietary, all programmers can benefit.

Edit: I don't think they are expanding to far..
Google's new OS could revolutionize quite a few things, and we seriously need more competition in the OS market, which will lead to more developers going cross-platform. I run Linux and this would actually be very beneficial to our community, and Chrome will be built on top of the Linux kernal.
Apple may not like it though, and Microsoft should be terrified. but ask me if I feel sorry for either one of them? especially Micro$oft.
And Google won't get rid the their search engine, they make most of their money that way and their new OS will focus largely on the Internet. They have the search engine and it's related to their other services. They are making it easier to integrate it all.
But they have said that these web-apps will be available in any browser. They have released Android and other projects as Open Source, they aren't really being predatory.
Chrome OS is supposed to be a simple lightweight OS, for netbooks (well laptops and desktops to if you really wanted to)
So it's not going to be a major threat to more sophisticated OS's
But they may be hurting on a mobile/portable market.
