Are you more worried about the current competition, or the upcoming competition? I hear there are many "webmaster" (we'll see) forums under works by many people who know what they're doing, ForumBuff and Link Typhoon included.
You said you currently have a limited number of unique ideas, does it worry you that other sites that have been in planning much longer may have pages of never touched plans?
You ran a promotion forum before, and you've been on FP for ages. Do you personally think that it makes it easier for you to start one of these sites than others? Are your chances of lasting improved?
Lastly, if the site does not do well, what course of action do you have planned? Sell the site, close the site, merge the site with another power, ect? Always good to have every detailed planned out 😉

1) Yeah... other webmaster forums are starting but this is a webmaster & promotion forum into one. The increased competition will not things any easier for sure.
2) I'd say my forum is reasonably unique and if someone has got pagefuls of unique ideas, depends. Not all unique ideas are good ideas 😛
3) I think my chances of lasting should improve and I think I've improved as a webmaster... and I think it has made it easier to start one of these sites because you learn a lot through the Admin Discussions forum or can.
4) Either close or sell, though merging is incredibly unlikely. Never say never though.

I don't usually join new promotion forums as they usually fail but the good domain that you have makes me interested.

No problem, mate. I don't know why, but this last year I have had a major interest in Webmaster and promotion forums.... I think the desire to run my own forum and the dedication that I now have to go with it could be why. But I've been enjoying these forums for quite some time. Once you get some boards and posts going, I look forward to being an active member. I have this site saved to my favorites so that when opening day comes, I can look forward to posting around.
