I'm crap at those kind of sigs, so i cant comment on any of the tecniques or anything you've used, but it looks fantastic.

Just used a lot of spatter brushing, and layer blends.

Its a default brush.

I have found most of the default brushes are some what better for sigs like this than grunge and other ones.
