Hey everyone! I just found out about this place, and had to join.
I've been online since 1999, mainly for business purposes: web designing, marketing, etc. This has included running and/or helping to run a number of forums. Along the way I've learned much, but can never learn it all, so when I discovered this one I knew it had to join my list of bookmarks. :great:
Hoping to be a long-term member, contributing something of value and receiving some value in return. Off I go now to look around and get to know the neighborhood.
Welcome to Forum Promotion, I hope you enjoy it here. If you have any questions (though, having been around for as long as you have I find that doubtful 😛 ) feel free to ask. 🙂
Being the old-timer that I am, I'm somewhat stuck in XHTML/CSS mode as my core expertise, and consider myself an expert at those. But PHP/MySQL is no stranger to me, either, as I work with that quite often as a forum admin. Other languages are familiar to me but I outsource any serious work for them to my brother in New York. We work together to form a lean, mean development machine. 😎
Hello there, it's great to meet a veteran internet user. I have only been on forums for a little bit more than four years. Anyways, welcome to Forum Promotion. 🙂
Welcome to FP! Also, on the learning bit, a person could be using the Internet their whole lives and they still wouldn't know all of what is needed to know. The Internet is advancing all the time so even if you take all the computer courses you can get your hands on in school, you'll only learn the basics there. A lot of stuff you have to figure out for yourself at times. So don't worry about not knowing everything there is to know...there's always so much to learn and what seems to be so little time to learn it in. Welcome to FP once again!
Thanks for all the welcomes. This is a great place, I've been enjoying reading lots of posts and getting to know the various features and opportunities here. Definitely another good place to keep visiting on the information superhighway. (Anyone else remember when the Web was referred to that way? )
