Have you considered using the whole phrase electronic dance music in your name? It may seem long but at least people will know exactly what your site is about at first glance. That's the only thing with abbreviations people usually have to read more in order to understand what a site is about - it's not usually effective unless it stands for people's names.

I would go for EDM Island, since the people who are even interested in EDM know what the abbreviation means, I see no use of using a long domain. Honestly I would join something named EDM Island, especially if the theme is something like an island but with a twist of that EDM culture.
What about "EDMWorld". I haven't checked to see if that one is available, but I think that'd be a good name. However, if that name isn't available, "EDMIsland" would be pretty cool if you could get a custom theme to go with it. 😛
EDM is good, but try another name? Just for new ideas.
