The Forum Promotion Community Team is hosting the '2017 new Year contest - lets remember 2016'. This is the first time such an event is being hosted by Forum Promotion, so without much ado, lets get to what this is all about.

Okay, I am excited. What do I do?

First, we all are excited, not only about the contest, but also to welcome 2017. However, it is important to thank 2016 for everything it has given us. I am sure it was a mix of blessings, sufferings, smiles and scars, but everything we are today, we owe it to our past and everything we will be tomorrow, we owe it to how much we desired to change the way we narrate our story to the world.

All you have to do, is to write a post (no word limit, but please keep it reasonable) about how 2016 was for you. You can talk about your achievements, your sad moments, how well you fought the world and how beautifully you overcame all the obstacles. You can even add how you intend to change 2017 into another wonderful year.

That sounds nice. The rules and regulations?

  • Anyone can participate
  • There is no word limit, but again, please keep it reasonable
  • The judging criteria is the poetical approach of your writing and how inspiring it is.
  • Content should be original

  • Third prize - 250 FP$

This is very good indeed, I don't mine tying around 200 to characters 🙂 Just that the prizes are bit low I would make it 1000FP then 500FP

Its not about the prize money. Its about giving your best try. I think you all should take lead in participating and see how things will work.

For some reason, it isn't letting me start a new conversation but since I don't mind posting this 'in the open', I'm posting it here. I could care less about the prizes - just thought I'd share my 2016 since it's been a year that went opposite of how I thought it would have been haha.

At the start of 2016, I was literally in a bad position. I wasn't the most confident guy you would ever meet in real life and my life was a mess - online and 'in the real world'. I had built a pretty bad reputation online (on forums) and all that due to immaturity but I kept going on forums and it went from bad to worse. I had also started to gain weight and I wasn't pleased with how I looked but it was due to me sitting on my computer chair on my computer all day long.

In the past, I had posted 'I quit forums' threads and what not but I never left and that was one of the reasons I had built a bad reputation but I for the first time, very seriously, didn't think but I just quit without telling anyone and somehow, someway forgot about forums which was an addiction back then. During those months (pretty much the whole year), I found a game called Clash Royale which my friends told me about. I made friends there, I loved the game and till now, that's what I do really.

For some reason, when I was on forums, I was very anti-social in real life but over 2016 I've made many more friends and met some amazing people. I'm more confident and I never noticed this but I've lost weight and become more fit.

I'm not saying forums are bad. Ofcourse not, forums were amazing - it was how I built my reputation, more like me being a joker ^_^

So my advice is that everyone makes mistakes. It's what humans do but mistakes can be resolved and if there's something negatively affecting you, it's best to let go.

2016 was a year that started negatively but I managed to pick my life up and I'm proud of that. In 2017, I would like to balance everything in my life and start focusing on getting good grades and my studies.

For those who are underage, is there a point equivalent to $3?
