New Zealand is used to having 2.* up to 4.* at the most. Nothing like 7.

No one is dead luckily. Someone is in hospital with major treatment being done, he had a chimney fall on him... but there was more mess on the roads than with people.

NZ is not big...But it's got a lot of latitude.

Yup I heard about this. One of the members on my forum lives in New Zealand so I was worried about him, but he's alright. He has some relations in the area that was hit. Hope they're ok!

It was only felt in certain places... Christchurch at the most, which is where I live.

Stuff like "OMG EARTHQUAKE?" Haha, Thats scary tho. I remember when the UK had one i was in bed and thought my house was falling down or was a train crash as i lived next to a train track.

Very rarely.. I slept through a 5.1 or so, so they're getting better now.
