Newbe question about phpBB2/3

I have a newbe question about template i want to buy.

It says it is a phpBB 2 template. I added the link to it in here -> TEMPLATE

I use phpBB3.0.9 version on my forum.

Will the above template work with my forum or not.

I know 99% of you will laugh their butts off while reading such a amatur question, but i really dont want to make a mistake and buy something and find out it doesn't work.

No, the template system is completely different. Although, there are some people who update styles, whether as a hobby or for a small fee.

Not really sure to be honest. You could try phpBB Communities, but I'm not sure if they convert phpBB 2 styles to version 3. I only know they update old phpBB 3 styles to their latest version.

Unfortunately, I had to let that template go and choose another one. I asked an IT stuff for help with converting it and after hearing 2k-3k USD for the job I almost blacked out 😛

Well, I guess we can't have everything 😛

Yep, but since I dont know anyone and I didnt feel like puting an ad on freelancer jobs for IT stuff I asked the guys at the online shope that have that template. They charge an 150 usd an hour :/ so they estimated that project for 2-3k... I know its sick but still 🙂

ask for help to Phpbb3 forum members, may be or they'll be help you. I think its a problem of forum updatability.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. By default phpBB3 comes with prosilver and subsilver2. The style you posted is subsilver based, and PLENTY of forums use subsilver based styles all of the time without to many issues. But keep in mind things are laid out differently so MODs will require more work than simple copy and pasting.
