Newly restarted forum, any tips?

Hey guys! I am the founder of Gaming Chit Chat, and I'm looking to see if you guys have any suggestions for me.

The site has been under maintenance for quite some time, but should be working completely. We've just reopened several months ago, and just came out of some major maintenance.

Do you guys have any tips for me? I really appreciate it! 🙂

First thing I would have done is send an email out to all the previous members.

Is this something you have done?

I agree with hostsurfuk that first sending an e-mail to every member you have before is a great idea.

Taking things further you probably want to add something new to the forum to pick people's interests, like addition of new feature or maybe contests.

Also, filler content is huge. I see 89 posts. Need a lot more than that to attract a bigger crowd. If you need help getting off the ground with content, I would recommend Postloop.

Also, big thing, is you need to stay with it and post often. If the board is still small, most people won't touch it if the admin is not active.

Thanks for the tips guys! Yep, I sent out an email to all of the old members, but none of them have come back. 🙁

We were under maintenance for quite a while, so I think most of them won't come back. I've been working towards getting a good number of points on postloop!

If any of you guys would like to join and lend me a hand, I would be happy to return the favor on your site. 😉
