Do you think the news is positive or more negative every time you watch it?

Well, obviously it is more negative, because the "bad news" are the ones who "sells more".
And we tend to overlook more the negative things than the positive, which is something the humanity should cleary change. But heh, c'est la vie.

Totally agree with you but some news stories are positive - Hard to find.
Also bad news spreads faster than good news.

It's very negative. Every time I watch it my stress level and anxiety goes up. I feel like the news focuses on painting a picture about the world falling apart.

It's somewhat difficult to watch the news, as it does present the view that things are getting much worse; however, part of that is that reporters really have only a few seconds to minutes to present news on a topic. As well, the reporter and the organization have pre-conceived notions of what is "news"; they are largely told what to cover by their owners.

In fact, most news isn't positive or negative, but simply "is"...and you need to consciously keep that in mind while watching or reading it. That takes effort - hence the difficulty I mentioned - but it's worth it to stay informed.

Drama gets viewers/readers so the more the journalists can make a story shocking, the better their ratings. Happy stories don't fit that pattern too often so it's the bad things that get pushed to the front.
