Newsletters

I seem to hate boards that send multiple newsletters in a week. Unless they are important. I myself send out about 1-2 a month, just for small updates. So, what do you think about newsletters and how often do you send them out?

im not planning on sending any out till our site has become successful and needs to.

I only send out one once a month. And they are usually quite long. As me and the other admin tend to add quite a bit. I'm actually waiting on Jay now to get his part done so it can be sent out.

Only once in a while for me. Like every few months or more.

Once or twice a month is probably enough. If you send them out too frequently, your subscribers will start un-subscribing.

I don't really... I think the general consensus is that they're annoying. 😛

When I first started running a forum, and I was on a host with mass email capabilities, I used to be pretty bad at this. I would litterally be obsessed with any tiny achievement we've made. Now it's gotten a lot better. We are planning on making some big changes to Chatting Time, and I won't announce that until we actually complete them.

I find they are annoying unless they are important. We haven't sent one out here for probably over a year (i can't actually remember the last one we sent out and why)
