Do you have a nickname or shorter way of saying your forums name? My members somehow came up with MPF.

Sometimes we'll call Chatting Time CT when we want to shorten the name. Not a good idea to do that on other forums though, as CT can mean more than one thing. Like here on Forum Promotion CT stands for community team. I'm sure this is nothing new, though. People have probably been coming up with nicknames to affectionately describe a forum since the beginning of forums, I'm sure.

At my forum, The Ethereal Nation Online, "Teno" is the most common nickname members say it as. n__n

Teno? That's an interesting nickname. I suppose whatever way works as to how to remember the name of the forum, that's all that matters, I guess.

I've recently seen from Google Analytics that some people found Business Advice Forum by searching Google for "baf" and others found us by searching for "baf forum business". This suggests that your forum's nickname can become known outside of your forum members and hence have an impact on your branding and SEO.

All my last three add them:

The Hazey was TH
phpBB Communities is either PC or phpBBC
Red Devils Forum is RDF

My forum's name is only 5 letters so doesnt really need to be shortened.
😛

GV or Gverse are the unofficial nicknames for my community. But I prefer people to use the name in full. 😛

All of the forums I owned didn't have a shortened name, but I was moderator on a forum called Ultimate Adverts, which was shortened to UA.

I've had members refer to the site as ZP or PornPlace (This was during some of our members' major impact on the site in which most of their posts revolved around sexual innuendos and posts.)
