Do you prefer night or day shifts?

I guess it really depends on the day for me. Like, if it's Friday or Saturday, I'd rather have a day shift just because when I have to close, I don't get home until like 11 because some customers will stay passed the time that we close. Day shifts, I usually get off at 4, so that's not as bad even if we are busy that morning.

day shift so that I can spend time at night doing gaming and watching TV. Yet Night shift is harder without an car and buses not run all night in my location.

Day shift is only option for me. the latest I can work till is 11pm by looking at time table for buses and later for trains

I have done both and both have their benefits. Over the nights, things are quieter, easier and no "big shots" around. During the day, you got a more "normal" life. I'm on days now, but I do miss the nights sometimes and maybe going to back to it next year.

2nd shift is the worst shift for me.

I like working during the day. Even though I probably can work swings or graveyard, I would rather not work it.

I am a care assistant in a care home and I work the night shift from 9pm to 8am
don`t do day shift as the buses from mine to town is to late for the morning shift
and it is quieter on the night shift

Normally, I prefer working days because then I can get my work day over with and spend the evenings doing what I want to do and not dreading going to work.

The only benefit of working the evenings is I get to sleep in but like I mentioned before, I'd have to dread going to work.

I've never had to work the graveyard shift. That's never been a "have to" situation for me. Every job I've ever had, it didn't have a 3rd shift. They've always been a morning shift or an evening shift. If I had to work the graveyard shift, I'd have to make sure than no one called me during the day or came to my door during the day. Otherwise, I might be a grumpy person a lot of the time from lack of sleep.

I've only ever worked regular 9-5 hours. Guessing I'd prefer this because friends work days so we can still catch up. :b

I like night shifts in a way, I have always been a bit of a Night Owl and come alive at night whereas in the morning I am quite grumpy and miserable 😛

So yeah, I'd prefer to work later than earlier

I like night shifts. I am a junior resident in surgery and I get to see more than thirty patients in a day. It takes around 12 hours for me to do the paper work and all the things. So I prefer night shifts, which means that I just have to just see the patients and I can leave the paperwork for the juniors xD. So prefer night shifts.

Teaching is a day shift only job, so that is what I work. During the summer I work an amusement park, however, and there I work a mix of day, swing, and night shifts. I enjoy the day shifts but I also like a few swing or night shifts mixed in which allow me to sleep in, and especially in the case of night shifts, a slower pace/workload.

I prefer day shift so that I can enjoy my evenings and get a good night sleep.

I used to work the night shift at my local casino 8PM - 4AM. I didn't like it but I way prefer it to a 9AM - 5PM.

I have day shifts in my profession. I can't imagine having night shifts just because when it's night time I either want to be doing something fun or I want to be doing absolutely nothing. 😛

In the computer operations department where they have shifting work schedules, it is noticeable that those assigned in the night shift have gained weight markedly. Our theory is that they eat more to compensate for the irregular sleep patterns that they undergo. Night shift is not for me because I cannot afford to gain more weight.

I'm more of an night person the morning

I am now working during the day but i honestly miss my night-shifts. Why? Well because there are less people, less bullshit and no bosses around 😛

I like to work at night, it made me concentrate. In the morning I take the time to sleep, afternoon look at work to do and then exercise. Basically, I work totally free so I do not have to depend.

I've worked nights and days. I worked days early last year and then have been working nights all the way up until May of this year. Now - I am working days again and will be for the foreseeable future. I have to say that working nights has a certain energy to it that working days doesn't. It can be inspiring at times. However I must say working days fits me better since my life falls into a more normal pattern with most everyone else in society. In terms of going to work (morning rush) in the AM, and leaving work (evening rush hour) in the PM.
