Anyone try to get one last night? What was your experience like? Did you get one or were you unlucky?
I actually forgot about preorders until I saw notifications on my phone about it while I was at work. Forgot again until a friend messaged me on Discord and reminded me. I ended up hopping in the virtual queue on Best Buy around 12:40am, decided to hop in the Walmart virtual queue shortly after, both lines for the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle. During all this, I could've probably secured one with Target, but ultimately decided not to since it'd have to be shipped to me and I didn't want to risk it being stolen if no one was home to retrieve the package when it arrived. Best Buy's line booted me out around 1:14am even though I hadn't touched anything, so I hopped back in line. Walmart took me to the page to preorder shortly after that, but it wouldn't let me add it to the cart, and by the time I was able to, it was out of stock. While I was fighting with Walmart to let me put it in my cart, I decided, on a whim, to just enter the virtual queue on Best Buy through the app on my phone because I'd seen on Reddit that it seemed to be working for people. Got up to give Walmart's site a break from refreshing and trying to add the item to my cart, grabbed my phone, logged into the Best Buy app and entered the virtual queue, stepped away from my computer for a couple minutes and took my phone with me, and came back to try Walmart again to find out it was out. Best Buy sent me to log in and took me to the page to preorder (after making me change my password), and I was surprisingly able to secure a preorder around 1:50am. The queue on my computer still had me in line till I refreshed the page after securing the preorder on my phone.
Whole process was kinda wild but fun. I wasn't hard set on getting a preorder because I knew I could get one eventually if I waited and was patient, but I figured I'd go through the process for fun. I figured if I didn't get one through Walmart or Best Buy with the virtual queues, I was going to try GameStop first thing when they opened in the afternoon, and if that didn't work out, I'd just wait to get one and just get a PS5 as a birthday present to myself instead of the Switch 2. Guess it was just early birthday luck that it happened to work out in my favor lol.
