Hello everyone

This is a suggestion for all members that don't have avatar in their profile
I just replied to a thread reviewing a website and I notice something. People are trying to get their website off the ground, coming here trying to get reviews, traffic, meet new people, and many fail on a very basic/fundamental thing. Use your avatar. You are not charged for using it. And that is the very first thing you should do when you open an account. It shows some kind of respect to the readers of your comments. When you talk to someone, you want to see or recognize the people you interact with. Use your avatar, that is the purpose of an avatar, to show some kind of identity. Personally, I can't take seriously to comments without avatar, It looks like I am talking to no one. And as a business/website or brand, you are loosing so much value if you don't use it.

That was my two cents...
Thanks for reading...

There are some basics already added or in place, like make so and so posts before you can able to start using FP services. Uploading an avatar is up to them and they aren't force to do it. I know one member with 300 posts that hasn't uploaded an avatar.

Maybe an idea that when they have made there topic on there website they have to wait for 24 hours to post again and need to make 5 more posts also

I'd say a comment is no more or less valid because the person used an avatar or not. I would say judging a comment based on a graphic that has nothing to do with the comment itself is rather foolish to be honest. It would be like discarding an entire review you received because of a typo or skipping past a forum because the owner didn't pay a few hundred dollars for a Xenoforo, IPB, etc. board and instead choose to use Zetaboards instead. Doing things like this just harms you and doesn't do yourself any favors as you lose out on things due to what is in essence a prejudice.

I can agree with you, I see I was a little rude with that line. My apologies.

I was on a math forum without avatars, FreeMathHelp.com. They didn't allow avatars cause the admin felt that it distracted from the serious subject.

That is completely understandable. For math you really need good concentration.
When I posted this thread, I was meaning for those that want to promote their forums, The avatar is a very well unused tool for promotions, many ignore it, but it really works. I had joined at many forums and with a couple of posts some users recognize my avatar. But I must admit not everyone is in the same page or for the same things. So, the beauty is in the diversity 🙂 and again, my apologies.

Right, avatars are fun and good for marketing. In fact, some people - even advertise a web address on an avatar - but I think that's too much. :yuck:
