I have some obtrusive ads on the front page for non registered users. They disappear when users log in.

I can't decide whether this encourages people to join or puts them off.

Any opinions appreciated.

I think when people see ads they click away.

I will cover the costs using Ptc sites.

I've taken the ads of our site apart from a footer banner on the bottom of the front page.

I did have things set up so that guests saw more adverts and they went away after login in the hope that more people would sign up.

We'll see if it makes any difference.

My forum has now got much mote active since I removed the ads,
With users coming on daily to post, I will be send a News Letter out this week, So that might bring a few members back!
