@ Gaf

you sir are a life savior for me, even though this isn't my thread XD
No problem man 😉 It takes a bit of time, but it sure does pay off.

Well, I haven't actually updated on this in a while, but I'm happy to say our statistics look like this:

Our users have posted a total of 3145 messages
We have 28 registered users
The newest registered user is Tyler_Night

I have a dance party every time a new user joins just for me. ^_^

Also, we're in the process of getting a domain, and should have one by Tuesday. I'm going to post a thread here later to try and figure out how to move the forum, because, as a technologically challenged person, I have no idea how to.

Thanks for the advice, guys!

A forum only a month old I think we can all say none of us had a successful forum when the forum was that young. My current one is 3 years and the one before was 4 years. Changed hosts same members and I am still working hard at it.

The easy part is creating the forum.

It's been open 1 month and you have 1.7k posts + 5 active members. I'd be grateful If I were you, although it isn't as great as some forums. Keep going at the rate you are going and get some more friends involved.

Exactly, I feel the same way. Just focus on good content and keep advertising.

Hi,

Keep it up with advertise and promote, you may one day find out your forum traffic will improve, and patient are require in order to gain traffic 🙂 . i hope you can get more traffic to your forum.

I have a forum on forumotion, my first and i'm 17 years old. I am not broke it was just at the time I didn't want to spend loads of money and have my forum be a failure.

With that said, I created my forum October 8, 2011 and 4 months later I have 1,040 members and almost 25,000 Posts with about 500-550 active fully.

I used to promote heavily....on various sites but now if you start searching related terms you will find our site within the top 10 on the first page of google and bing and sometimes even in the top 3 or 5.

My advise is to promote, promote, promote and then promote, promote, and promote some more.

Lots of work but it has paid off for me.

TBH, people really shouldn't bash forumotion. They do have occasional downtimes but for the most part 90% of the time the site is fine.

I got a free domain on my site back in December, I suppose since we are active.

Something that I've not seen many people do is promote on every advertising forum that they know about it. A member here, Theezy, goes on so many forums and regularly updates advertisement topics about his site Wober that his forum is doing quite well.

So what you need to do is use all available techniques and options you know of to advert your site and even if your forum has been opened a month you can't expect members to appear out of no where and sign up, it takes time and effort. One thing that might be a cause of a low member count is that your using Forumotion which has been debating too much on here about it's pros and cons, also the fact that your forum has a narrow subject and long domain.

All of those are valid reasons why your forum has taken off. Running a forum takes a lot of time and effort so don't expect to have a forum as big as Forum Promotion for a very long time because that is what it takes.
