My life is pretty awesome. I can't complain. Very happy to see you now. I've missed talking to you - a lot.

Are there a lot of doctors where you're at?

That's good to hear. That's all that matters, no? That whatever lemon is being thrown at you, enjoying it is the real question. 😉 It feels strangely nice to be back too, so hopefully I can stay around for a long time. So we can talk a lot again! 🙂

I'd like to say yes, but once in a while I see news about how we lack doctors especially at remote areas. Hard to say.

Yeah, that's what life is about sometimes. Happiness seems to fairly rare, which is pretty sad to see.

Interesting. :O Do you want to be a doctor in your home country, or move somewhere else?

There may be smaller happiness in life that we didn't notice. I'm trying to be more thankful for life and everything I have.

If you ask me as a doctor, then the answer is my home country. Diseases differ based on the locations and I'm already used to the situation here. But as a human and civilian, I do wish I can spend the rest of my days in more organized countries like Japan. 😛

That's what I've found is key. Look at the little things in life and you'll find that you normally have more than you'd think.

I'm sorry to hear that about your country. Being from the US, I can't say I understand that too well. Do you have any specialty in medicine?

Indeed. 🙂 Complaining is a part of human nature, though. But we can (and should) consciously remind ourselves to be more grateful a little bit more everyday.

Which part do you not understand well?

No, not yet. Still a GP at this point.

I live in the US. Unlike what you read on the news, we're still the greatest country on Earth. The "American Dream" isn't exactly what it used to be, but it's still fully alive. Through the US education system, I went from a lower class upbringing to a high class after I finished school. I can't say that my country hasn't treated me right. Other people might be different, but that's not for me to decide.

What do you want to move onto, or do you just want to keep being a GP?

My decision about where to work and study further is solely based on the knowledge base, though. Let's say it's possible for me to get a graduate degree at US in hospital management, but I would rather learn about tropical diseases in my own country than elsewhere because it is more applicable in the long run. 🙂 It doesn't necessarily mean one's education system is better or worse, though yes they are different.

I'm planning to get ophthalmology as my specialization.
