What do you do when nobody is posting around and you're the only one pumping activity into the forum? Do you make more topics? Perhaps you troll for new content?
It should be obvious what I do 😛

Every forum I make has this problem after.. oh... two days or so, heck if I know. Bleh, and I'm still a reviewer.

I always try to generate some type of new content. A guide or something. If not then I try to make up some new topics. Ask some questions or what not. When you have a forum that is for a game it gets hard sometimes.

If there are no new posts being created I create 2 or 3. Just to try and get some activity pumping. If not I try to advertise and introduce new members so they reply to already submitted threads which gains a response from my current members.

When nobody posts...I POST. Forums need content to grow, I create new topics everyday for my forum because it is just starting out, and if members see topics they are interested in they will most likely post. You can also do post exchanges, pay forum posters...etc. They are many ways to get posts on your forums.

I don't see the point in people paying others to post. Just create a few fake accounts and post high quality threads and content if that is the case. I've never done this as I don't see the point. I've never paid anyone to post on my forum and I never will.

As tronik stated, if nobody is posting you're doing something wrong and the admin must create some interesting content in order for the members to post.

lol, make exchanges and do everything in your power to boost up your forum's activity.

Things get quiet sometimes at my forum but there is never nobody posting. We have some regulars and staff that would not let that happen. During quiet times I take the opportunity to think up new interesting topics or maybe do some sort of give away/contest with the forum cash.

Another tip is quoting what people say and asking follow up questions to what they said, they'll post more when they are being asked direct questions. I don't do this myself for the sake of boosting activity, but I think it might help out (in theory) 😛

what I found with forums.. you always have to post new things and make thread that can be debatable also. because once a topic has ran it course then there is nothing that can be done..

I've done that quoting things, I sometimes also reply interesting threads (IMO) that may be of interest for the new blood.

When I am the only active I request a few packages or arrange a exchange with two different people in order to have something going taht may draw other members to post.

I think it's such a difficult time when nobody is posting. It can get you down all the work you put in and wonder if it is worth it. I think it's always best to keep posting yourself and maybe ask for a review of your forum from an outsiders point of view to see if there are any area's of your forum that may need addressing that may get members motivated to want to post. Also what has been mentioned too is to get some free posting packages from here done to make your forum look more active and entice those readers into posting. It needs to be kept up or those new posters may lose interest. Patience and hard work is of the essence.

Draw your members in, go to their posts and reply back with more detailed questions, make them feel as if they are the center of attention. Creating fake accounts does not work in the long run.

Advertise, get the word out about your site and even share what's the hot topic of the hour, day etc... Getting people interested can be tough but every site has peaks and lulls so keep at it.

Every forum has up days and down days, but if it lasts more than three days, that's when you have to get involved.

Make at least 3 new topics a day, reply to all the topics you can find with calm, intelligent answers, create events, send mass emails reminding your members, etc.
