This is an interesting forum software which was developed recently. It's written in Node.js.

Any thoughts? The design is a bit odd, in my opinion, but shows promise.

In my opinion, there are too many "watered down" clones coming on the scene, where forum software is concerned. Personally, I would stick with the obvious packages such as phpBB, SMF or vBulletin.

Yes, I agree with this. There are just too many new forum softwares that are trying to copy the big ones like Xenforo, IPB, Phpbb, yet they are not as good as them.

NodeBB is pretty much like discourse, which I also do not like.

I mean, if NodeBB was to create an installer where anyone with shared hosting, or rather no access to a CMD bar or even no knowledge of how to use a CMD bar, they would probably be a little bit more popular.

I think it's just a unique copy of other softwares coming out, they are all using the same techniques, same looks, etc.

The only thing with NodeBB is it seems to be more community friendly than the rest.
