I currently have NIS, and was wondering if I can/should download Avast and Malwarebytes aswell?

Or just NIS + one of the others?

Or NIS + something else?

Thanks guys.

I currently just use Norton and SUPER Anti-Spyware.

I don't think you should have 2 real time anti virus protection, they'll conflict with each other. Do I would say to choose between Norton and Avast.

So I should probably get Malwarebytes to compliment my norton?

What do you think?

Yeah. I used to use MalwareBytes myself and it worked well.

From what I heard, you shouldn't use more than one real time anti-virus, you could go for both and switch one of the real-time off but Norton and Avast are pretty good on their own so either of them should do the job.

It's advised to only have on AV program, as someone else pointed out, they can conflict with each other.

I only use Avast and it does a fine job at protecting my computer. Haven't gotten a virus since I got this computer 3 yrs ago.

I'd recommend keeping Norton and scanning with Malwarebytes once every month. Or use Avast and Malwarebytes.

NIS+ Malwarebytes is good enough for most typical users. I recommend NIS since you paid for it, so you might as well finish using it until the subscription expire.

I was never a big fan of Avast since it seem to slow down my internet with the internet shield, and it has too many shields which made using it complicated compared to simpler antivirus like Microsoft Security Essentials, or AVG 2012 free edition.

I am just curious on how you can get a virus. Just be careful.

Anyways, that is me. I would use Avast. I have used it before but never saw the point. It did some work for me but not much.

Never use two real time protection anti virus programs together. It can cause conflictions, crashes, and in some cases leave you even more vulnerable.

However downloading the free version of MBAM and running a weekly scan is a good idea.

Get rid of Norton altogether and use avast! and MBAM. I strongly suggest the PRO version of MBAM. Its the best $25 Ive spent on a program.

Most copys of avast my friends had were malware themself.

and try comodo internet security its free 😛

I've like Avast! Free and it worked quite well but then it started blocking my sites for no particular reason. I know that I don't host any malware or anything of that sort but it still blocked it. So I uninstalled and got AVG Free.
