Now, on forums you usually have the option to block or add as foe to people that you don't like. This allows it that you can't see their posts and whatever else. But if you try to add a staff member as a blocked or foe person, it doesn't let you.
So, my question is. Do you think that you should be able to add staff members to your ignored list or not?
I think you should be able to except for the main admin, there have been a few times where I didn't like the staff member. I didn't like what they said, so I really wanted to put them on my ignored list. But it wouldn't let me, because they are staff. I also didn't even know they were staff.
Don't see the need for it personally, if you don't want to talk to them just 'ignore' them as theezy said, by not replying to them.
I wouldn't see the need to 'block' a staff member either. If you have a member on the team you don't like then you shouldn't be working with them. :great:
Staff members shouldn't be blocked, if you don't like them you should make a complaint to the admin about them. Staff members are there to help so they shouldn't be blocked.
If you blocked a staff member it would be impossible for that member to get in touch with you if there was a problem with you or the forum so it's necessary. Simply ignore them or contact another staff member if you are having issues.
I've never used the ignore feature on a forum either. I'd agree that it should not be possible for members to block / ignore staff. Staff make important announcements and other posts to moderate the forum. It is important that members can and do read those posts.
As a forum administrator, I think its imperative that you do NOT block anybody. If a staff member can block a 'regular member' but a 'regular member' cannot block a staff member, then that is double standards. But at the same time, you have to ask yourself whether the block features should even be enabled? In my opinion, they shouldn't.
As theezy said, if you don't like somebody, ignore them the old fashioned way. if you're wanting to ignore them because of something along the lines of say bullying, report them to staff and have the issue resolved
It's like theezy said, if you don't like them, simply ignore them the old fashioned way. Don't bother them, and they won't bother you. It's as simple as that.
