My mom wants me to make some PowerPoint trivia questions for her school. She teaches 6th grade Reading/Language Arts. What are some good questions for her class? Any type of question related to the subject. Must be multiple choice.

Thanks!

Who wrote Animal Farm?

Albert Einstein
George Orwell
William Shakespeare
Georges Simenon

I think that's a little too obvious. The answers are pretty straight over, if you knew anything about anything you'd just be stuck between George Orwell and Georges Simenon.

Animal Farm -> George Orwell is pretty basic to me

Perhaps quiz the kids about popular book series like Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter?

I only know about Animal Farm because my brother played Napoleon in a school production of it...

...but even then, I was in Year 7 and didn't understand a lot of what was going on. It's not really something I'd recommend for people below Year 9. :/

I studied top set Animal Farm in year 9. Anyway, you're probably right - 6th Grade wouldn't really know much about it. Harry Potter might work better.

I don't mean books. I mean parts of speech, punctuation, sentences, analogies, ect.

We'd have to know the Grade 6 curriculum from your area, as Grade 6 in Ontario may be very well different from Grade 6 in Florida.

That I know, but I was private-schooled up until grade 6, so I don't know the public school curriculum here.

Your/'re going to a shop today - your or you're
They're/eir/ere many people in the world called David - they're, their or there.

lol jonathon I think 6th graders would know that. 😛

Actually, only 10/89 of her students read at a 6th grade level, and 5 are at a 3rd grade level. That is a good question.

Isn't she suppose to make up the question? She is an 6th grade English teacher.

Maybe the types of Figurative languages like Palindromes or Imagery.

I think the best things to include would be the ones that most people get wrong:

Between you and I / Between you and me

She was the girl that sang. / She was the girl who sang. / She was the girl which sang.

Alot of people like cats. / A lot of people like cats. / Many people like cats.

Stay awhile. / Stay for awhile. / Stay for a while.

That kind of thing.

Sorry, that's incorrect. It's 'There are', not 'They are.'
