I haven't seen any of these so i guess i will start this.

This thread is for MyBB ONLY! Go ahead and discuss it, show off some themes made for it, suggest good mods, etc etc.

So what does everyone think of MyBB?

I like it, it makes everything easier.

It sucks until you get Google SEO. Then it rapes.

I use it on my forums and do support it, but that doesn't mean I have my fair share of problems (the lack of open-source attitude from the modding community is one).

Anyways back on topic.. MyBB is very similar to vB. I wonder if they did that on purpose?

It is too.... easy. So simple. It is good if you are looking to aim your forum towards people who rarely go online and use forums because 'User Control Panel' sounds alien whilst 'Edit Your Profile' is a more commonly recognized term.

I prefer phpbb over it but prefer mybb over ipb.

Thats supposed to be a good thing. A user friendly forum is great for those are not forum savvy. There are several people out there who aren't forum professionals and have trouble figuring out how to do even the simplest of tasks (like editing signatures or changing their password).

Yes but if they can't do the simple things like you said above, then really they should not be running a forum, being an admin is not meant to be easy and I find people are making stuff too simple and people are not really learning anything.

Initially, it was advertised to be a free vBulletin. So yes, but they've pretty much evolved since.

Well, if it's simple, why criticize? In an admins' side, we don't have to do file edits to install MODs/plugins (actually, files don't even have to be edited either) with the exception of Google SEO. File edits shouldn't have to be a roadblock to upgrade software.
