I always have my dock set to auto hide but here's a screenshot with my dock appearance.

Windows 7. 1920x1080. The style is Ultimo by Tom Richter for WindowBlinds. Wallpaper is a photograph of two of the four members of the electronic band Ladytron. I am not a fan of desktop icons.

Nearly a year later my desktop still looks like that, except I added a shortcut to OmmWriter, a writing program that takes over the desktop, has a minimalist interface, and plays ambient music. Helps me write. Also have a shortcut to Microsoft Office 2010. Expensive, but I feel really comfortable using it so oh well.

A member asked how I find my stuff: besides what is on the quick launch, pinned to start menu. I do not use many programs.
 
Some great ones in here. How can you get the interactive ones for Windows? Showing the time/date/temperature etc.
 
In windows 8. The snapshot feature in built in.

I pressed Windows key logo plus prtsrc(print screen)

This is my Desktop. As you see, it is very messy. I use an iMac, by the way.
