Offline server question

I've built a server that is not for internet access/use, but for a secure offline testing ground for things like forums, websites etc.

However, my question is that if I have something like ICQ on the computers or laptops that are connected to this offline server then can I use ICQ to chat?

You can not use a ICQ on something with no internet connection. Period.

You might search around for something like an intranet chat system? It would have to be by cable, because without an internet connection, it is impossible to reach the outside world via a computer. Period.

Yes you can, try Ip messenger a simple and effective intranet chat tool.

Well Try open fire lan chat server its free software, and you can use spark lan chat or the pidgion chat software to chat. 🙂

I think the newest version of Invision forum has a built-in messenger, and shoutout box.
