Sorry if this isn't the appropriate section for this, but...

Okay, so I have a forum (obviously ) and it is doing pretty well overall. But there is a small problem. A couple of the sections are getting almost 50% of the posts while the others vary in activity. Is there a way I could help balance the posts, even if by a little?

If you have a cash/points system, and you can buy stuff, you could always increase the amount of cash you get in those forums, or a contest of some sort (most amount in those forums win something).

Buy stuff? If by that you mean real stuff, that's a no go, I'm a poor person. |_|

By buy stuff, I meant services (posting at their forum, follow on twitter, custom rank, etc.).

Hmmm... but none of my members are forum administrators ( Except my other admin, of course ), the Twitter thing seems like an idea though. I feel custom rank doesn't need to be earned, though.

Thanks for the help by the way. 🙂

Try you yourself posting new content regularly to those sections, it may encourage others to as well.

Is it a broad subject or just popular? Depending on what the subjects are, a lot times people just post wherever and should be posting in a more specific category. It is something to look at just in case.

I have actually been trying this, and it's actually doing a bit to balance it out. 🙂

Why do you want to balance it out? If your members are more interested in certain sections / topics why not play to your strengths and be the best you can be in those sections. Why try to get your members to participate in areas where they are not so interested.

One of the main focuses of the forum is history, and it gets the least amount of posts compared to most others. I just find that concerning.

General Discussion, History and video games, importance in that order.
That's a very random pick of forums, probably suiting your likings, but not your members. Stick to a certain niche, otherwise there will be a range of posts everywhere. Also, group a few forums for the time being if you want to balance them out, though I don't see it being necessary if members want to post in certain forums.
