I think this is ridiculous, "BP started pumping heavy mud into the leaking Gulf of Mexico well Wednesday and said everything was going as planned in the company's boldest attempt yet to plug the gusher that has spewed millions of gallons of oil over the last five weeks."

http://helenair.com/news/national/artic ... 43589.html

MILLIONS of gallons. That ****ing MILLIONS. You know how long that could last?? I don't understand why the heck the government doesn't get involved more to stop it. I know BP has taken responsibility, and probably spending billions to clean it up. But this is really pissing me off.

What's the lesson? Don't rely on oil. Renewable Energy is the future of our earth.

What really irritates me though is how BP is pointing the finger to others.

Yeah, but as of now. We DO rely on oil. And I think this will be a wake up call.

And everything spilled so far, if the 100,000 barrel per day estimate (not BP's figure which we know to be a lie) is accurate, is still less than a fifth of what the United States burns in a day.

Everything turns political here in the U.S. which slows down the process of resolve in many cases.

Exactly. Everyone here just pints fingers and argues, instead of getting anything done. Just like President Hoover, everything bad that's happening today, diseases, deaths, the depression, the war, area ll gonna be blames on Obama just because he's the current president. Not because of the president that caused it, oh no. He's not in the office anymoe there's noooo waaaay he caused it. This country is ridiculous for "The best country in the world."

Actually, the best countries in the world are Norway, Sweden, Canada, Australia, Iceland, and the other seven countries that have higher indexes of human development than the USA.

Norway, Australia, Iceland, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Japan, Luxembourg, and Finland are all the countries, according to a 2009 report. 😛

I'm moving to Sweden. I decided last year. If you ever study the history of Economy and politics and etc, they're more more successful than most countries have ever been. AND it's like a 90% green-energy country.

Thank you.

Oh, and it's worth mentioning that Ireland only has the sixty-first largest economy (which means that some American corporations are worth more money than the entire country of Ireland) and is fifth in human development index. Take that, free market capitalists.

Meh, I decided to move to Germany. At least they're improving, although they're ranked 22nd. Is is me or does Scandinavia look like a giant d**k?

Ehh, at least Finland and Norway have one hundred percent literacy unlike our conservative country that loves to cut education to fund wars and increase the prison population.

GooseDennis: Maybe it it's cut down the middle. But who in their right mind do that? :I

I've wanted to tour Germany. I wanna leave my mark on that Berlin Wall.(it's covered in art atm)

Exactly. By now, i bet we're only 50% literacy. Or lower.

Actually, only Georgia has a one hundred percent literacy rate. The US is tied for 21st with a 90% literacy rate. @Sizuubi: You do realize that the Wall was torn down in 1989?

Are you looking at the numbers used for human development index? For most industrialized countries, they assume ninety-nine percent. I believe that these numbers are more accurate.

And to think, this would have been very VERY easy to cap if the environmentalists had not forced these rigs into such deep waters. Close to shore spills are much much much easier to cap. This whole problem is because of the mile deep waters they were forced to drill in.

Because it would be a bail out. I don't think the government should stop it (which was what I inferred from your post that you wanted the government to stop it), since they didn't cause it. BP should get their shit together.

Now for the posts that really show off the intelligence:

Sweden is socialist, which means you'll have a fun time paying taxes! Sweden currently has the second highest tax burden of all developed countries at a nice 47.8%. And once all the taxes (you thought you got off easy? You still have municipality, the county council, the central government, and church taxes.) are paid, you'll take home 15% of every dollar you earn.

Judging by some of the posts on this forum I'd be inclined to agree, however the US and UK have an approximate 99.0% literacy rate.

The wall still stands to this very day. Why do we need to go back 21 years?

Though I may be wrong, I don't think they still allow graffiti to be put up on the few standing parts.

Didn't see this before:

Few things wrong here:
1. The calculation of literacy rates of most developed countries is ESTIMATED at 99.0% rather than calculated.
2. What do education cuts have to do with literacy rates? I didn't attend public school for a long time, yet I am completely literate.
3. Conservatives are to blame for everything, so you have that part right.

While I may not agree with you on some things, these types of things I do have to agree with. Although the "save the planet from global warming ZOMG" people are to blame for it being difficult to stop, BP has to take the blame here as they didn't install an emergency shutoff valve.
